About: Karnata German Press is an open-source revival typeface based on historical Kannada printing specimens from the German Press tradition. Building upon the research, digitization workflow, and engineering standards established during the Karnata Wesleyan Mission Press project, this revival focuses on preserving the distinctive forms of early Kannada metal type while making them suitable for modern digital use. The typeface was refined, standardized for Unicode, and developed with OpenType support to ensure compatibility across contemporary publishing and digital environments.
